Mary Perkins Ryan papers, 1932-1951.

The papers include manuscripts, correspondence, articles and other publications of author and editor Mary Perkins Ryan. Much of the correspondence deals with Ryan's book Speaking of how to pray (1944). There are also some letters from Leonard Feeney, John LaFarge, Gerald Ellard, and Martin Hellriegel.

Jesuit liturgist and author. Ellard joined the Jesuits in 1912 and was ordained in 1926. He taught at St. Mary's College, Kansas from 1932 until his death. A Catholic priest and author, Martin B. Hellriegel was born in Heppenheim, Germany, in 1890, and came to the United States in 1906. In 1914, he was ordained in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, where he served as chaplain to the Precious Blood Sisters in O'Fallon, Missouri, and then pastor at the Holy Cross Cathedral in St. Louis.
